Laban For Actors May 2025 ONLINE registration only
Laban for Actors: Online 2 day Course (In Person in Toronto)
“Pascal is truly a master teacher. He creates a space of play and discovery while effortlessly guiding the actor through Laban principles. His process keeps one in exploration mode before getting too analytical. I have studied Laban principles briefly in the past but felt like I was rediscovering Laban in a whole new way. We worked from the inside out, which allowed me to truly get curious and dive in deep without being too judgmental about the process. I highly recommend his classes to actors searching to embody characters on a much deeper, physiological level!” Talia R (Toronto)
WHERE: ONLINE (Go HERE to register your IN PERSON spot)
WHEN: Part 1 Saturday May 10th | Part 2 Saturday May 24th
TIME: 10am to 6pm Toronto (Online East Coast time: 7am to 3pm)
Designed for actors who have some experience and/or some training, this now well established workshop series, will deepen your current range and expand it into new unfamiliar physicality to become equally grounded in truth. Laban can be used in any media from theatre and motion capture to film and even voice work!
Part 1 will give you a firm foundation in Laban principles, not starting with theory but led instead with embodied practice. The object is to get you familiar enough with the qualities from an experiential process before learning Laban’s terms. On completion you will be ready for Part 2. Short homework prompts will be emailed daily between each class.
Part 2 will move into more advanced territory, teaching how to use Laban to analyze a character from a breakdown and a performance on film. Finally performing a speech using what has been learned able to be adjusted to each medium - recorded for your further reflection.
Only 6 in person places and 4 Online places are available.
