This 8 hour online intro to the fundamental technique is your entry into a new world of free-flowing "be and do" acting. Collective Intent is the only place that offers the Global Arena Psychophysical technique, or GAP. The technique closes the distance between word and behavior, between describing motivation and action with words. To learn more head over to this Blog.

This course can only be taken by professional actors or those with established training. The classes will be divided into two sections, the first being the establishing of basic principals and exercises. The second section will apply these to existing speeches you know and then as long as we are on schedule, going further into using the technique for quick-work on short scenes, useful for castings. A break between classes allows time for integration and homework.

BACKROUND:

The psycho-physical system was something I developed, testing it with friends and RADA alumni. I use it regularly in all the media I work in, but find it particularly useful for fast characterization for game, and deep emotional connection with characters I play in TV and film. I found out recently the foundational principals has parallels with the Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor approach ( https://pbsp.com/ ). As the effect of PBSP therapy is scientifically validated, I understand my technique is evidence based. However, I keep away from therapy, and stick to character exploration and embodiment. For other frames of reference think of Michael Chekov’s Psychological gesture taken further…

That said, this can tap into powerful stuff and can lead to powerful revelations. If you are triggered by our work you should cease taking the class. You will always have control over how far you dig.
